Intake

After you submit an inquiry, a Huckleberry team member will reach out to you within 48 hours to set up a time to discuss your family's needs and the steps required to begin the intake process. Our Huckleberry specialist will ask you questions to determine how to best aid you and your child through this new process. After this initial meeting, you will receive a few intake forms to fill out for us to better understand your child. Once your forms are submitted and reviewed, we will schedule a time for you and your child to come into the clinic for an assessment.

Assessment

You will arrive at Huckleberry's clinic for a 90 minute to 3 hour assessment with one of our Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs). Our behavior specialist will conduct an assessment that best matches your child's needs. At Huckleberry, we typically conduct an ABLLS-R or VB-MAPP assessment in person. These assessments look at a wide variety of skills that are important for your child's development. We test for gross and fine motor skills, language development skills, social engagement skills, every day life skills and many more. Once your child's assessment is complete, the BCBA will get busy writing up an individualized treatment plan for your child that encompasses the skills that will be targeted for improvement. Collaboration is important during the assessment portion of the intake process as we want to target skills that will be of the utmost importance to you and your family.

Treatment Planning

Once the assessment is complete, the BCBA will start working on putting together the treatment plan. This document will be used as a road map to targeting the skills that you and your BCBA have decided are best for your child's development. Goals are written using assessment results, collaboration and keeping the needs of your family in mind. The treatment plan will encompass the chosen targets for your child, the recommended number of ABA service hours and the service delivery method. Once the document is complete, the treatment plan is sent to parents for final approval before being submitted to your insurance provider.

Treatment Implementation

Once your insurance provider has approved the treatment plan, your child will be paired with one of our highly skilled Certified Behavior Technicians (CBTs). Your child will work one on one with their CBT during their ABA sessions to grow and develop the chosen skills outlined in the treatment plan. Once a week, a BCBA will supervise your child's ABA session to ensure that the goals are being implemented effectively and with efficiency.
